<description>Hi my name is Rick Clarke I was looking to setup another funderaiser and stumbled across yours. I am not sure of the cause of Kathy&#039;s kidney failure but I wanted to share this with everyone and hope that it helps Kathy and others.

On behalf of 50,000 patients affected by two debilitating kidney conditions, we would like to request your support. On June 6, 2009 we will “Step Forward” and walk to save kidneys and to save lives at Riverview Beach Park.

Approximately 100+ people will team up for a Mission Possible: To raise awareness and research funds to find a cure for Nephrotic Syndrome and Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). These conditions damage the kidney filtering system and potentially lead to kidney failure. If treatment with steroids and other drugs fails, dialysis is often the last resort for survival. My name is Rick Clarke as you know my life was changed 24 years ago when I was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome, which eventually thanks to my wonderful brother Michael a transplant. I could you your assistance with getting the word out to other people to help support this great cause. Currently there is no known cure for Nephrotic Syndrome, my hope is through The Nephcure Foundation to not only help myself but more importantly to raise enough awareness about these rare kidney diseases so that someday there will be a cure, so others like me will not have to go through the same things that I have.

With a cure unknown and the number of newly diagnosed patients on a constant ascend; the NephCure Foundation is determined to increase public awareness and to bring hope to those who are greatly suffering. NephCure is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN 38-3569922) dedicated to bring hope to patients and their families affected by Nephrotic Syndrome and FSGS.

You can help, too! This is a great opportunity for you to give back to your community. Enclosed is a sponsorship package providing your company with tax-deductible options to step forward with NephCure, to help save kidneys, and to save lives. NephCure will be reciprocating by highlighting your contribution on the Foundation’s website and walk related direct-marketing efforts.

Please take the time to review the information and contact Richard Clarke at 856-678-6075 or email pvwalk2009@gmail.com for further information.

Very truly yours,

<description>Ditto to the ladies above. I hope your event was a great success. Two and a half weeks ago my best friend who had just turned 44 had a massive heart attack and has since been on life support. Her husband has been out of work for 4 months. So it&#039;s time for the beef and beer. Did you have a lot of success contacting businesses with this mailing, or did someone have to go face to face. I&#039;m also curious about the tax question and the online donations. I have a paypal account and wonder if thats a possibility, but I think there are fees incurred with using paypal. Since my girlfriend got sick I&#039;ve come across so many areas that could use a central info source. In her case, &#039;In Case of Emergency&#039; file. Living will, bills, contacts, etc. And now I could use a site with tried and proven fund raising possibilities without having to wade through sites and sites of lollipop selling to scratch off cards. Sorry to be so long winded. I appreciate any information you can give me.

<description>I stumbled upon your website while looking for info on how to organize my own beef and beer, to help with medical costs of my fiancés best friend. Ironically he also is in desperate need of a kidney transplant as well.
This site has already helped me, but I had a few more questions. You say that “donations are tax deductible to business”. Did you have to set up a special bank account, with special tax id #? If you have time, please tell me your basic run-down of this part of the process. Also, how did you go about setting up a website so that people could donate money via the internet? I would greatly appreciate anything you can help me with. Thanks again!!!

		<description>Hi Kathy:
I am a friend of your sister, Terry. As she has probably mentioned to you, in August 2006 I had a single lung transplant after being on oxygen for 5 years.
I was only in the hospital 11 day and pretty much back to normal in 3 months. I was even dancing at our son&#039;s wedding reception in Nov. 2006.
I am doing absolute wonderful. The medication is a lot but you get use to it.
Best wishes to you and your family.
You have top priority right now on my prayer list.

		<description>Hi,

I wanted everyone to know how brave, caring and compassionate Terry is. I have worked with her as a student worker for almost a year now and she has been a lifeline to me and many others at school. We all wish her and her family the best of luck. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

<description>Hi Kathy, It was nice talking to you about fundraising. I&#039;m sure everything will go well with your kidney transplant. You and your family have some great ideas.

I forwarded your web site to my my &quot;spice&quot; and my children.

My children did fundraising for their dad who has ALS a few years ago. They did a letter campaign and they had an event. The event was a huge success. The money went to Hahnemann Hospital to establish a family suite in Intensive Care so that a family member could stay at the hospital with the person who has ALS. The suite is named after my ex.

Lots of luck to you.
